Greg Kline & Kline Log Homes
I can remember working with my grandfather that made these little wood projects in his basement and then his garage. It was there that I fell in love with wood. After graduating high school I worked at a wood shop building all kinds of things from custom cabinetry to kitchens and millwork. We also built additions and a couple houses. Working on my Carpenter apprenticeship there I went on to getting my journeyman’s license in carpentry. After 8 years with that company I decided to go on my own.
1986 was when Kline Construction was founded. For two years I was a fencing contractor doing all types of custom fencing and also odd carpenter jobs. In 1988 my wife Jessica and I decided to build a house. We fell in love with a small log home that we saw in an ad in a newspaper. After meeting with the sales rep and signing the papers for our package we started on this adventure of building our own log home.
As I was building our home the sales rep saw our progress and asked me if I would be interested in bidding on somebody else’s home and I said yes. The rest is history. Over the years we worked with many different log home companies and have built over 100 log homes from small getaway places to 10,000 plus square foot luxury homes. Somewhere in those first log homes I fell in love with that lifestyle. Building people’s dream homes out of trees. Cutting, shaping, and assembling multiple pieces and putting them together into a beautiful home. Homes that are different, each one unique to the customer who had a dream to build a log home for themselves. And over the years I’ve developed a skill as a Craftsman in log homes and timber frames. I also understand the process, the planning and the steps involved in a successful project. Taking a customer’s dreams and ideas and putting them into something that you can touch and feel and live in. We are a design-build company. And we do all the general contracting from filling out the permits to working with the sub contractors and doing all the construction work making sure things are done in a timely manner. We take pride in what we do and also enjoy the relationships we’ve developed with our subcontractors who many have worked with me for 20 years plus. We have also been blessed by the relationships we have with our customers. It’s always a joy to see a past customer at a log home show or a fair we may be doing.
